President’s Address
It is my great pleasure and excitement to welcome you back to Sweden and to the city of Gothenburg for the 14th Meeting of the Hydrocephalus Society, Hydrocephalus 2022, September 9-12, 2022.
Many of you may remember that in 2006, the first hydrocephalus meeting of this kind took place in Gothenburg during a few warm September days. It was also here in Gothenburg that we took the first steps to create the ISHCSF Hydrocephalus Society.
Since 2019, we have not been able to meet in person and the interest in attending a physical meeting to share hydrocephalus research, network and socialize is greater than ever. This year, we really want to satisfy every need in this regard!
We have prepared a program that covers the new developments in many exciting areas of adult and paediatric hydrocephalus such as diagnosis and treatment, clinical symptoms and outcome, disease biomarkers and pathophysiological mechanisms. We welcome clinicians in neurosurgery, neurology, paediatrics, radiology, geriatrics and psychiatry, basic scientists, nurses, therapists, neuropsychologists, patient advocates and others with interest in hydrocephalus.
The Conference Venue is located in the heart of Gothenburg, providing modern facilities combined with the convenience of access to numerous excellent hotels and a guaranteed friendly reception. Gothenburg is a world leader within sustainable meetings as well as a Fairtrade City. It is also the greenest hotel city in the world.
Gothenburg is Sweden’s second largest city and is located on the west coast, at the outlet of the Göta river. The tranquility of the archipelago is never far away. You can also enjoy Swedish nature right in the city centre. Gothenburg, once the centre of the Swedish ship-building industry, has turned into a diverse and lively city full of Swedish design, food and culture. September days are still long and light and many of the outdoor bars and restaurants are buzzing with people day and night. Gothenburg is a true foodie paradise. Fish and shellfish is our claim to fame, and the restaurants range from Michelin-starred gourmet to fun and imaginative street food.
So, Join Us at the 14th International Meeting of the Hydrocephalus Society in September 2022 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Mats Tullberg
Hydrocephalus 2022 President
